2020-2021

We normally meet Sunday Mornings 9:45am-10:45am but due to Covid-19 we are unable to meet in the church at this time.

We will continue to develop alternate Sunday school plans as conditions dictate.

In the meantime, check out our current virtual “at home” Sunday school and Middle school/High offerings below.

Virtual Sunday School starts September 6th

REGISTRATION: Sunday School families will be contacted by email and Facebook with specific details on how to get connected with our virtual Sunday school.

If you have a new student, please contact Brittany Booth, Sunday School Coordinator, boothjb@q.com

WHAT TO EXPECT:

  • A simple way to explore, celebrate, and wonder about faith that you can adapt to fit your family and stay connected with our Sunday school leaders and families.
  • Weekly Sunday School videos using the new Celebrate Wonder curriculum will be pre-recorded and available online for your family to view and interact with together at home.
  • We will be making the Weekly Sunday School videos ourselves and hope to incorporate photos and video clips submitted by our Sunday school families too!

Families with children PRESCHOOL-4TH GRADE will receive:

  • a Celebrate Wonder Storybook Bible
  • a quarterly Celebrate Wonder Family Activity Book “filled with activities to engage the whole family and questions to explore and wonder about at home.”
  • a Wonder Cube to use to explore the Bible story together
  • a Celebration Chart for children to mark each week as they experience God and love and serve others.

A “UMCMV Sunday School 2020-21” private Facebook group will be used to communicate, share weekly video links, and socially connect with each other.

Although the virtual Sunday school is geared most directly for preschool and elementary age children, we hope that families with older siblings will find these materials can be used together with the whole family.

“Celebrate Wonder is a Sunday school curriculum that engages children’s natural sense of curiosity to help them understand God’s love. It creates a safe environment for kids to ask big questions — helping them explore the Bible in ways that feed their imagination and encourages creativity. Through carefully-selected Bible stories, songs, videos, and hands-on activities, Celebrate Wonder gives children the tools to explore their faith while incorporating it into their daily lives.”   Cokesbury Kids
