Our Care Ministry Team is a group of trained lay ministers who work along side our pastor to help provide care for our church family.  Our Team consists of Care Ministers and Stephen Ministers, who have been trained to care for, listen and support persons who are dealing with any of life’s many transitions and the stress that they bring.

We believe that everyone in our congregation needs care at one time or another for a variety of reasons.  We all also have opportunities to provide care.  We are all both receivers and givers of care.  Providing care might look like praying for others, providing a meal for a family dealing with a transition, sending a card to show love and support or maybe knitting a prayer shawl.

Sunday, September 16th, has been designated as Care Ministry Sunday at UMCMV.  The Care Ministry Team will be serving as worship assistants, and highlighting our Meal Ministry and plans for growing this ministry, during the service.  Throughout the Fall we will continue to share with you about the special ways our Care Team is ready to serve this congregation.

Care Ministry is an organized effort to love on and care for our congregation one person, one family at a time.  Our Ministry Team is still dreaming of what we can do and how we can serve.  Won’t you dream along with us?  Do you know of someone who needs our care and support?  Would you like to speak with one of our Care Ministers or a Stephen Minister?  Would you like to help lead our meal ministry or card ministry?  We are here for each of you and look forward to encouraging and building up one another, together.

Peace and Blessings,  Julie Baty, Congregational Care Coordinator
